DJ Hem

DJ Hem, also known as Hamdam Zakirov, is a vinyl collector, editor and publisher, host of a podcast on Uzbek pop music, creator of Central Asian jazz mixes, and a poet whose work has been translated into more than ten languages. His interests span rare Eastern groove records alongside contemporary sounds — folk, jazz, psychedelia, funk, disco, and electronic music — drawing from Central Asia and India, the Middle East and Turkey, North Africa and the Maghreb, Western Europe and the Balkans, and folk rhythms from around the world.
